Cheyenne Frontier Days General Committee Names Katie Landers 2007 Miss Frontier

The Cheyenne Frontier Days General Committee has confirmed Katie Landers as Miss Frontier for the 2007 edition of Cheyenne Frontier Days; Katie represented Cheyenne Frontier Days as the Lady-In-Waiting in 2006.

Katie, who is the daughter of Guy and Kathy Landers, grew up in a local ranching family. She is a graduate of Cheyenne Central High School, and currently attends Laramie County Community College where she studies Criminal Justice. Her activities include leading the Young Adults Sunday School class, and working on Christmas Cupboard, an organization that allows children to pick Christmas presents for their parents from locally donated items. She also uses her family's draft horse team to gather firewood for community residents. Katie enjoys both attending and competing in rodeos; she served as a Cheyenne Frontier Days Dandy for two years.

Katie says of her desire to be Miss Frontier, "I want to pay tribute to my ancestors who lived the western way of life that Cheyenne Frontier Days represents today; I want to represent the rodeo that has been the highlight of my family's summer since 1897."
