Military Chairman

Col. Matt Dillow

This is Matt’s second year as Military Chairman. Military personnel from F. E. Warren Air Force Base have played an integral part in Frontier Days since they helped kick off the first celebration with a historic cannon blast in 1897. Today, the committee sets the stage for the crowning of Miss Frontier at the Coronation Ball. They also host the 90th Missile Wing’s Fort D.A. Russell Days, which includes the Buffalo Stampede 10K Race, the historic homes tour, and live historical military reenactments. In addition, Military Committee volunteers organize and execute the Thunderbirds Air Show and work with other Cheyenne Frontier Days™ volunteers to host distinguished military visitors. The Military Committee also provides the Cowboy Medics—the team who assists the Grounds Committee doctors by furnishing medical aid to injured cowboys in the arena.
